WrestleMania XXX has the potential to be one of the biggest WrestleManias of all time. WWE has a lot to live up to because WrestleMania X and XX were both epic. The past few years WrestleMania has been hit or miss but when it comes to options for this years big event WWE has quite a few good ones. The roster is stacked with talent right now and all the possibilities for awesome feuds are endless. Let’s take a look at 10 matches that would be awesome to see at WrestleMania XXX
1. Daniel Bryan VS CM Punk
This match seems unlikely to happen going forward but fans have been talking about it for some time. Daniel Bryan and CM Punk had a pretty good feud for the title in 2012 but they’re both much bigger stars at this point. A WrestleMania face off between these two in say an iron man match could be a real spectacle if given the right amount of time. Still it seems as though WWE is intent on keeping these two away from each other right now. This match will most likely happen at some point but it’s doubtful it will happen this year at WrestleMania XXX.
2. Daniel Bryan VS Shawn Michaels
Who wouldn’t love to see this match? Daniel Bryan is at the top of his game right now and Shawn Michaels will always be The Showstopper! These two could tear the house down at WrestleMania but only if Shawn agreed to come out of retirement for one match. It’s a tough call on his part considering his retirement was so well done but if Shawn does get the itch to step in the ring again Daniel Bryan would be his best choice for an opponent.
The fact that their styles are so similar and that there’s already a story built in makes this a marquee matchup. Could we see it? Only time will tell.
3. CM Punk VS Triple H
Most internet rumors seem to be saying the same thing which is that this match is a lock for WrestleMania and this one has the potential to be great. Out of all the people Punk has worked with since making it to the top of the company his promos with Triple H showed that these two can work well together. Both are total smart asses on the mic which makes for some very entertaining arguments. It also helps that Punk is a much bigger star now than the first time he feuded with Triple H.
This has major potential especially if there’s some sort of major stipulation added to the matchup. Triple H is the leader of The Authority and CM Punk is about as anti authority as it gets so watching these two try to destroy each other could be a lot of fun.
4. John Cena VS The Undertaker
Let’s face it, there aren’t too many big money matches left when it comes to the streak. Most of the big name players have already faced The Undertaker at Mania but WWE has done an excellent job with delaying the inevitable by holding off on this match. John Cena is one person that could definitely make people believe that the streak is in danger of ending. Cena and Taker had a great feud years ago when Cena was new to the company but as of right now this is the biggest possible match The Undertaker could have at WrestleMania XXX. No one knows how much longer The Undertaker will wrestle so it might be best to get going on this one.
5. Cody Rhodes VS Goldust
Cody Rhodes and Goldust were one of the best things about 2013 and there’s no doubt they will continue to put on great matches in 2014. This team is very entertaining and has a chemistry no other team in the WWE can match right now but at some point everything must come to an end. Cody and Goldust seem to share a very strong bond right now which is why pitting them against each other could create some excellent television.
There’s plenty of time between now and WrestleMania to plant seeds of dissension in this team and we could start seeing this happen soon. This match right here is a showstealer waiting to happen and there’s no better place to do it than at WrestleMania XXX.
6. Batista VS The Undertaker
Batista VS The Undertaker tore the house down at WrestleMania 23. As far as I’m concerned that’s the match that legitimized Batista as a main eventer in the WWE. He went above and beyond to put on a great match and he succeeded on every level. The chemistry these two had made their match one of the most memorable of the streak so why not go one more time?
The Undertaker has faced former opponents a few times in rematches at WrestleMania so why not Batista? You know it would be just as good if not better than their first match so if this is the direction WWE decides to go, expect another epic face off between The Animal and The Deadman.
7. The Shield VS The Wyatt Family
Both of the these three man teams have had great runs in WWE so far and it only makes sense to put them up against each other before either one disbands. The Shield is obviously headed toward a breakup at some point but WWE is doing a great job with taking it slow. The Shield could easily stay together up through WrestleMania and finally make this match happen!
When this match was teased a few months ago on Raw the fans went crazy. WWE won’t have too many more opportunities for a 3 man team VS another 3 man team match, unless of course they plan on putting together more 3 man teams but that doesn’t seem likely. If this match is going to happen (and it should) it needs to happen at WrestleMania XXX.
8. Brock Lesnar VS The Undertaker
The Undertaker can’t have all that many matches left in him but before he calls it a day we want to see him go up against Brock Lesnar one more time. These two had a very brutal and exciting feud when they were both in their prime but there’s no doubt they could pull out a match up of similar quality now. Brock Lesnar has been putting on great matches ever since his return and The Undertaker although he only puts on limited matches each year he always has the best match at WrestleMania.
This is a big money match that many people would be more than happy to pay to see.
9. CM Punk VS Brock Lesnar
I’m usually against doing cliche rubber matches at WrestleMania but after witnessing the spectacle that was CM Punk VS Brock Lesnar at Summerslam I can’t help but feel like I’d love to see Punk get some revenge. At Summerslam CM Punk put up one hell of a fight but when it was all said and done Lesnar got the best of him. Punk has what it takes to defeat Lesnar and if they could put on a match that was even half as entertaining as their last encounter it could definitely be a WrestleMania classic.
10. Seth Rollins VS Dean Ambrose VS Roman Reigns
If the WWE does decide to split The Shield up before or at WrestleMania then this would be the way to do it. The Shield always operated as a unit making each guy seem just as important as the next. Due to the fact that The Shield have been so good at making each other seem like equals giving each of them an equal chance to prove who the best of the three is could turn out to be match of the night.
No one has worked harder than The Shield since their debut. They go out of their way to steal the show every night and they often succeed. There’s a lot of potential in seeing these three face off against each other and WrestleMania XXX could be the night to do it.
