Ring of Honor is home to some of the most talented wrestlers in the world right now, but some of the promotion’s top stars are moving on to other things. Adam Cole recently said goodbye to Ring of Honor, and it’s believed that he’s likely WWE bound. Now it looks like another ROH star could be WWE bound as well.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Dalton Castle’s Ring of Honor contract is set to expire this month. WWE is said to have “great interest” in Dalton Castle, and it would likely take a major offer from ROH to get him to stay with the company.

Over the past few months Impact Wrestling has lost several top stars. The Hardys and Drew Galloway returned to WWE, and Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis also left Impact. Prior to that stars like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Bobby Roode left the company under the previous regime, but not the promotion is being run by Jeff Jarrett and Anthem.

Jarrett recently spoke to SportsKeeda about the departures, and he says that when one door closes, another one always opens.

“When one door closes, another always opens. In the reorganisation, the rebuilding of the brand, we had to make decisions, others made decisions for themselves. Yes, talent went out of the door. New talent came in.It goes without saying, at the end of the day, that the prior regime lost the Spike Deal, they lost Destination America, they lost lots of talent- AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode. It is no secret that if it had not been for Anthem, specifically Len Asper, Ed Nordholm, and company…I wouldn’t be sitting here in Mumbai talking about producing content the next day. So they took the brand…it wasn’t just in the grave…it was in the graveyard with the coffin shut and they brought it out. Before they came on board, I won’t even call it a comedy of errors…in the financial world, they call it a ‘death spot’ and that’s what happened.”

  1. As a big Impact Wrestling fan, I have to concur with Jarrett’s comment that the brand was: “it wasn’t just in the grave…it was in the graveyard with the coffin shut.” Sad, but true.
