CM Punk recently returned to the world of professional wrestling when he joined WWE Backstage as a host, but Punk’s deal for Backstage is through FOX, not WWE.
Punk is “WWE adjacent” at the moment, and it looks like WWE is interested in having him appear on the WWE Network in the future.
On Sunday night the Broken Skull Sessions debuted on the WWE Network, and the first episode saw Steve Austin interview The Undertaker.
PWInsider is reporting that there was talk internally over the weekend that WWE wants Steve Austin to interview CM Punk on a future episode.
It’s also being reported that Punk was not backstage at Survivor Series, or any of the WWE events in Chicago over the weekend.
