When it comes to storylines in WWE they come and go, but over the years the company has earned somewhat of a reputation for simply dropping storylines with absolutely no explanation.
Last year Murphy broke away from his mentor Seth Rollins amidst a budding romance with Aalyah Mysterio, and he aligned himself with the Mysterio family.
It seemed that the angle had the potential to be a launching pad for Murphy, but according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter the storyline has been dropped.
It was noted that Murphy was at ringside last week when Seth Rollins returned to Friday Night SmackDown, but at no point during the segment was Murphy focused on.
There’s no word on why the storyline was dropped, but it’s been speculated that the company just had no idea where to go with it.
