The Undertaker recently returned during the 900th episode of SmackDown, and he announced that he’s back, and he’s taking souls and digging holes. The Undertaker also announced that WrestleMania will no longer define him, indicating that he may step into the ring before WrestleMania 33.

As far as when he may wrestle again, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE is discussing a possible Undertaker vs. AJ Styles match for the WWE Championship at the 2017 Royal Rumble. It’s not a done deal at this point, but it is being discussed. The report also noted that the timing might not work out because Undertaker recently had hip surgery, and he’s still going through rehab.
Earlier this week on Raw, Goldberg announced that he has plans to enter the 2017 Royal Rumble match, and so far he’s the first confirmed entrant.

It was rumored a few weeks ago that WWE was interested in Shawn Michaels possibly coming out of retirement to face AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble. AJ Styles noted during an interview that he would love to face Shawn Michaels, but as far as he knows the rumors are just rumors.
“I would love the opportunity to wrestle him,” Styles told Sports Illustrated. “I’d love to learn from him, but who’s to say if that’s going to happen. Right now, it’s all speculation and rumors that I’m finding out like everyone else is, but man, what a match that would be.”
