luke harper

The Wyatt Family are combustible and Luke Harper got his chance to take his aggression out on Randy Orton at Elimination Chamber. Orton came out to a chorus of cheers and he looked extremely focused. He knows what’s about to happen, he knows that he’s going through another career upswing, he deserves it, and he loves it.

Luke Harper came out in all of his Bruiser Brody meets Captain Spaulding greatness. He’s so creepy, and we love him for it. The two men gave each other their signature looks for a moment, locked up, released and Harper let out one of his patented yells.

The two took it outside and Orton ended up having his head bounced off the announcer’s table, Luke threw him back in the ring and hit him with a great looking dropkick. Harper then went to the top rope, took a right hand from Orton, and went tumbling to the mat outside while Orton got up on the opposite turnbuckle to prematurely pose.

Randy gave Luke a chance to get in the ring at the same time, but he turned it around on Harper. Luke ended up taking a suplex on the announcer’s table, but the table didn’t break, because why should a table break in 2017?

Orton grounded Harper with a rear chinlock and kept the hold in for a minute to give the match time to experience a lull. Luke made it back to his feet slowly, but Orton retained control of the match.

Orton posed once more on the turnbuckle like he’s trying to break a record for most mid-match pose-downs. Randy then stomped on a grounded Harper’s midsection and reapplied a rear chinlock while grabbing onto Harper’s beard to gain more leverage.

Harper made it back to his feet again and created some distance with a few shots and hit Orton with a few forearms. Luke Harper hit Orton with a senton over the top rope into the ring and got a close two-count after a big boot.

Orton regained control by countering a dive from Harper with a forearm, but Luke ended up successfully hitting Orton with a suicide dive on the outside. Big men like Harper who can fly like that really need their own collection on the WWE Network.

Harper suplexed Orton off the announce table again, and of course, it didn’t break. Randy countered with a stiff clothesline, and both men made it back in the ring before the 10-count.

Harper grabbed Orton’s head and scaled the ropes. Randy got himself out of it and climbed up to meet an already seated Harper on the top rope to hit him with a huge superplex. “This is awesome” chants filled the arena as Orton got a close two-count.

Randy hit Harper with a full-nelson slam for another close two-count. Harper ended up on the apron and Orton hit his Wyatt Family brethren with the through-the-rope DDT. Then Orton started to pump himself up for the RKO, Harper got to his feet but before Orton could hit him with an RKO he took a stiff forearm followed by a stiffer looking boot for a two-count.

Harper hit Orton with a sit-down powerbomb and Orton barely kicked out. The two men traded punches while they were both on their knees and the crowd was equally behind both of them at that point. They kept punching each other as they got to their feet, then Orton hit Harper with an RKO outta nowhere and got the three-count.

Orton won a hard fought match, but did you honestly think that he was going to lose this one? No, Randy was going to win so he could pose one more time and point at the big WrestleMania sign hanging from the rafters.
