Shawn Michaels is a WWE Hall of Famer, and he’s considered by many to be one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. But after The Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 26, HBK hung up his boots for good, and he’s said several times that he plans to stay retired.

In January of 2016, AJ Styles made his WWE debut, and he’s had an incredible run with the company so far. He became the WWE Champion after only a few short months, and the fans are very much behind him.

Styles has a reputation for making other people look good, and most people feel like he can put on a good match with just about anyone regardless of who his opponent is. Shawn Michaels had a similar reputation during his WWE days, and it’s because of the similarities that fans often talk about what a dream match would be like between Michaels and Styles.

Fans aren’t the only ones talking about a potential AJ Styles vs. Shawn Michaels dream match, as Styles admits in the latest clip from WWE’s Table For 3 that he tried his best to get the rumor mill going in hopes of making something happen.

The episode features AJ Styles, Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash and Michaels noted that Vince McMahon has been gracious enough not to ask him to come out of retirement, but when people started talking about the Styles vs. Michaels dream match on social media, Vince caved and asked Shawn if he would be interested.

HBK also noted that he thinks there’s a lot of potential when it comes to a match between himself and Styles, but it seems unlikely to happen. Either way, it’s an interesting conversation and you can check it out in the clip below. The full episode is set to premiere on the WWE Network after Raw tonight.
