WWE has released a number of Superstars over the last few months, and many fans were surprised when former NXT Champion Aleister Black was let go. Even though Black was released it’s been rumored that there’s been talk of the company possibly bringing him back.
PWInsider reports that as of right now Aleister Black is not with the company. There were some people in WWE who felt that his release was premature, and pushed for him to return, but he has not signed a new deal and is not in deep discussions regarding his return.
There’s speculation that Aleister Black may want to test the waters outside of WWE with companies like New Japan Pro Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling.
WWE spent weeks airing vignettes to promote Aleister Black’s return, and he finally made a comeback when he attacked Big E on the May 21 episode of SmackDown. He was later released on June 2.
