According to F4Wonline.com, there were 15 cities in the running for WrestleMania 34, including Philadelphia and possibly St. Louis, and WWE officials decided on New Orleans a few weeks ago.

New Orleans officials wanted WrestleMania to return to the city as New Orleans is celebrating its 300th year. Officials from New Orleans reportedly pitched the idea that WrestleMania would be part of their tricentennial celebration, and that’s what sold WWE on the idea of returning to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Stephanie McMahon posted a few photos from the press conference on Twitter and she also hyped up the fact that WrestleMania will be part of the tricentennial celebration.
