A few weeks ago WWE had to make some major changes to the main event at Day 1 after Roman Reigns tested positive for COVID-19. Roman Reigns was pulled from the show, so his opponent Brock Lesnar was added to the WWE Championship match.

Brock Lesnar faced off against Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, Big E and Kevin Owens in the main event, and when it was all said and done it was Lesnar who walked out with the WWE Title.

Bobby Lashley recently discussed his thoughts on the match during an appearance on After The Bell with Corey Graves, and he admitted that he asked to be removed from the match after Brock Lesnar was added.

“The first thing I said was, I said, ‘get me out of the match.’ I said, ‘it’s a fatal 4-way, me and MVP can do something beforehand, get me out of the match’. Initially, people were like, ‘what? Are you scared of him?’ No, I’m not scared of him, it’s a match where exactly what happened, happened. He beats somebody else and got the title. So essentially he can say he beat me, Seth, Big E & Kevin right? I mean, the match is five people and I was like, ‘that’s not the way this is going down, get me out of the match’. And they were like, ‘nah, nah, you got to stay in the match,’ and I was like, ‘alright’.”

Lashley also added that people weren’t happy about Brock being added to the match, but once he knew he couldn’t get out of the match he decided to make a statement.

“There was kind of a lot of people that were like, not happy about it,” he said. “But I looked it as, ‘at first, get me out of the match, but if I’m staying in the match, then interactions we have with Brock, I have to make a statement.”

Brock Lesnar will defend the WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Saturday, January 29th. Stay tuned for updates.
