When Stone Cold Steve Austin no-showed WrestleMania 33 this year it sent the rumor mill spinning. Many were expecting The Rattlesnake to show up, raise hell, drink some beers, and maybe even give a few people a Stone Cold Stunner. But he missed the show of shows in 2017 and Mania was without an appearance from Steve Austin.

Some people speculated Stone Cold was done with WWE. But on a recent episode of “The Steve Austin Show” he set the record straight. As it turns out the reason Stone Cold missed the Grandaddy Of Them All this year had more to do with real estate than anything else.

Steve Austin explained he is currently going through the sale of his ranch in Texas. Yeah, that ranch: The Broken Skull Ranch. Processing a sale of that magnitude takes some planning and its rather time consuming. As it turns out he had a lot of obligations dealing with that and it was in direct conflict with WrestleMania. So, Steve Austin had to pass on the WWE Hall Of Fame, Axxess, and all of the other WrestleMania weekend actives he would normally take part in.

WWE wanted The Rattlesnake to do something at WrestleMania 33 but Austin had to respectfully decline. He stated he had to inform them due to the sale of his ranch he would be unable to make the festivities.

The Rattlesnake put all speculation that he’s done with WWE to rest as well. Steve Austin assured fans he was still a part of WWE and they would always be a part of his life too. He just couldn’t make WrestleMania in Orlando because he needed to be in Texas for real estate reasons.

Stone Cold assured fans there is no amount of heat from him or WWE concerning this decision either. If you’re wondering what will happen to The Broken Skull Ranch, as it turns out it will follow Steve Austin wherever he goes. Stone Cold signed a deal saying he retained all rights to the “Broken Skull Ranch” name. He just needs to find a new ranch.

Austin explained he had to sell his famous ranch because he lives in Los Angeles and needed to travel 1,500 miles to his ranch. Therefore the commute just got to be too much of a hassle.

It’s great to know Stone Cold Steve Austin and WWE are still okay. We had a lot of questions when the glass didn’t break before Austin’s iconic music during WrestleMania. Now that we know the whole story, we’re certainly revealed.
