NXT Takeover: Back To Brooklyn is set to take place from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on August 20th and a big title match was announced during the NXT tapings on Wednesday.
Shinsuke Nakamura faced off against Wesley Blake at the tapings and after the match NXT General Manager William Regal made a special announcement. Regal announced that Samoa Joe will be defending his title against none other than Shinsuke Nakamura at the event.
The segment featuring the announcement should air on the August 3rd episode of NXT on the WWE Network.
Samoa Joe won the NXT Championship back in April when he defeated Finn Balor at a house show in Lowell, MA. Since then Joe has successfully defended his title against Balor, and Balor went on to face Shinsuke Nakamura after Nakamura challenged him.
Nakamura has been one of the top stars in NXT since he debuted at NXT TakeOver: Dallas and it seemed like it was only a matter of time until he got received a shot at the title.
