The stars of SmackDown Live are currently building towards Hell in a Cell on October 8th a show that could see The New Day cash in their rematch clause for the Tag Team Championships against The Usos.
It seems that Xavier Woods could have hit something of a bump enroute to Hell in a Cell as it is being reported that Xavier suffered a knee injury at the SmackDown Live event last night in Texarkana, Texas.
It is being reported that Xavier was injured in his match against Tyler Breeze and Fandango last night, as the former SmackDown Tag Team Champion went down, the referee threw up the dreaded “X” symbol before Xavier was then helped to the back by medical staff and by his New Day team mates.
Luckily for The New Day, they would be able to challenge for the Tag Team Titles without Xavier because Kofi Kingston and Big E can be the ones to take part in the match with Xavier at ringside, so this wouldn’t be a huge problem for WWE to fix.
WWE is yet to officially announce that Xavier is injured or how long he could possibly be out of action for. It will be interesting to see what kind of shape The New Day member will be in tonight if he does make an appearance on SmackDown Live.
