You never know what can happen after a WWE television show goes off the air. This is true for everyone, but especially Shinsuke Nakamura. The King Of Strong Style fought hard and endured three Attitude Adjustments but all it took was one stiff Kinshasa and John Cena was out for the count.

SmackDown Live went off the air this week while Shinsuke celebrated and John raised his hand in victory. But after the truck cut off the signal to USA Network, Baron Corbin decided to make his presence felt in Cleveland. It’s a good thing the cameras didn’t stop filming.

The Lone Wolf was mysteriously absent from the broadcast and we even mentioned it in our analysis of the show. But Baron Corbin wasn’t going to let the night conclude without making a statement. Unfortunately the statement Corbin made wasn’t the one he would have preferred.

John Cena saved his opponent for the night from total destruction. Super Cena put Baron Corbin through a table and delighted the crowd as they went home even happier than they would have after seeing Nakamura win the #1 contender match. It just goes to show no matter how the match ends that Cena must pose, pal.

Some observed Cena and Nakamura worked a light match for being something this hyped. While it could be possible John dialed it down a notch because he didn’t want to risk his upcoming Bumblebee movie, Cena still had plenty of gas left in the tank to put a heel though a table.

This goes to show you never know when Baron Corbin might be waiting in the wings with his Money In The Bank briefcase. The next time Corbin decides to pounce on Nakamura it could be to snatch his newly won title and John Cena might not be around to save him next time.

You could argue they need to book Shinsuke Nakamura to look stronger than this, but they also need to make Baron Corbin look ruthless and unpredictable. Those two characteristics make a great MITB briefcase carrier.

SummerSlam is going to be fun!
