Sunday night at Fastlane, Shane McMahon got involved in the six-pack challenge match for the WWE Championship, and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn accused Shane McMahon of costing them their chance to become WWE Champion.

Prior to SmackDown Live, WWE was hyping up a major announcement from Shane McMahon on this week’s episode, and Shane made his way down to the ring at the end of the episode to make his announcement.

Shane announced that General Manager Daniel Bryan will be returning next week, and that effective next week he will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from his position as Commissioner of SmackDown. He then announced that Sami Zayn will be taking on Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 34.

Shane tried to end the segment but Kevin Owens came out to confront him, and Sami Zayn followed shortly after.

Zayn and Owens teamed up then attacked Shane. He tried to fight back but he was no match for the two of them.

They wrapped a chair around Shane McMahon’s neck then slammed him into the ring post. Zayn and Owens dragged Shane up the ramp and into the backstage area. The powerbombed him backstage and Shane McMahon sold the beating as SmackDown went off the air.
