There are a lot of rules in place for safety reasons. Some rules are there for convenience and others are in place because of a search for profit or to avoid a lawsuit. But still, other rules are enforced that just seem unfair and confining.

One pro wrestling legend recently found himself on the wrong side of a rule at Disney’s Magic Kingdom today and it resulted in him not being able to enjoy the “happiest place on Earth.”

Magnum TA was one of the top babyfaces in his day with a huge upside to his career. But all of that changed when he was involved in a devastating car accident in 1986 that pretty much halted any momentum he had going for him in the ring.

Tessa Blanchard is the daughter of 4 Horseman Tully Blanchard, but she is the current step-daughter of Magnum TA. Apparently, Magnum was denied entry today into Disney’s Magic Kingdom because he requires a Segway to get around due to his paralysis.

This is really an unfortunate incident and we can only imagine it would ruin anyone’s time if they were on their way to experience Walt Disney’s vision. One fan tried to reason with Tessa by saying Disney doesn’t let Segways into their park for liability reasons. After all, those things have an unnecessary stigma of having a mind of their own.

Apparently, Disney does have mobility scooters available for rent. But that doesn’t help the fact they’d have to figure out a safe place to put Magnum’s Segway while he’s exploring the park.

On a more important note, those scooters were probably investigated by Magnum and his family because Tessa commented how they wouldn’t suit her step-father’s needs because he can’t use them due to the functioning disability of his right hand.

Sometimes rules are rules, but other times companies might need to take a step back and see the humanity behind some of the legally inspired protocol in place. After all, what harm could Magnum TA do on a Segway?

  1. Think about it like this. There was a lawsuit in which Disney got segways banned, even on tours with staff. So they’re not gonna let anyone in period. It’s all posted. Imagine if he hit the trolley tracks. It could hurt him even worse

  2. I’ve used the scooters at the park and unless they just completely switched over to new ones, you can operate them with either hand
