Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns collided in a Last Man Standing match last night on WWE Raw ahead of their involvement in the fatal-four-way match for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam in a match that also includes Samoa Joe and current Champion Brock Lesnar.

The match was as hard hitting as could be expected with Strowman actually throwing a desk chair into the head of Reigns at one point, but that wasn’t enough to keep him down for the ten count.

Later in the match Roman did manage to take Strowman down with an incredible spear, but when Roman managed to climb to his feet he was then attacked by Samoa Joe and for some reason, the referee completely forgot to continue counting for Strowman who was still on the floor. Instead, he began counting after Joe had forced Roman to pass out and Strowman was already getting up to his feet.

The referee was at a count of eight on Braun before Samoa Joe became involved and should have finished it despite interference since the match is contested under no disqualification rules.

The WWE Universe managed to pick up on the error and shared their thoughts on Twitter:

It seems that this was just another case of WWE deciding to bend the rules for their own gain since they wanted Strowman to win the match but Roman to look strong ahead of their huge match in less than two weeks time.
