the rock

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a world truly run “by the people, for the people”? It seems most of our politicians are wrapped up in party debates and other inconsequential matters. Enter Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

According to an exclusive article from GQ, the People’s President might actually become a thing. Johnson said his running for president is a “real possibility”, meaning that in 2020, we could have a variety of candidates to choose from.

This also is not the first time that a celebrity has turned to politics; Ronald Reagan was an actor before becoming president, and of course the current President of the United States is also a high profile celebrity.

Let’s look at the qualifications to be the leader of the free world:

– Must be a natural born citizen of the United States: The Rock was born in Hayward, California, and has lived here for most of his life.

– Must be 35 years of age: The Rock was born on May 2, 1972, which makes him 45 years old as of this writing.

– Must be a 14-year resident of the United States: Despite some of his childhood in New Zealand, he returned to the US and has lived here ever since.

Rock also spoke a little bit about how he would run the country if he were to make it to the White House.

“Personally, I feel that if I were president, poise would be important. Leadership would be important. Taking responsibility for everybody. [If I didn’t agree with someone] on something, I wouldn’t shut them out. I would actually include them. The first thing we’d do is we’d come and sit down and we’d talk about it. It’s hard to categorize right now how I think he’s doing, other than to tell you how I would operate, what I would like to see.”

Though the statements are vague, he has “all the tools.” He meets the qualifications and is an international superstar and WWE legend; he certainly has the star power.

What do you think? Would the People’s President be a good thing? Sound off in the comments below!
