Vince McMahon made his big return to television last week on SmackDown Live, and his return lived up to the hype. McMahon confronted Kevin Owens in the final segment of the show, and he addressed the fact that Shane attacked Owens the week before. Vince announced that Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens will face off at Hell in a Cell, and that’s when things took a turn for the worse.

After shaking hands with Vince McMahon, Kevin Owens hit him with a head-butt that busted him wide open. Vince was bleeding from his forehead in the ring as Owens continued the attack and finished McMahon off with a frog splash from the top rope.

It was later speculated that Vince McMahon bladed ahead of time and covered up the wound with nu-skin so that it could be easily opened up during the segment.

Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince did indeed blade ahead of time, but it’s believed that he covered the wound using Vaseline instead of nu-skin.

After Kevin Owens attacked Vince McMahon, he made his way up the ramp and Stephanie McMahon came out to check on her father. Original plans for Stephanie McMahon reportedly called for her to bring a towel out to her father, and Vince was supposed to bleed all over the towel, but obviously that didn’t happen.

Following the attack WWE later shared a storyline update saying that Vince McMahon refused medical attention.

Vince McMahon’s segment with Kevin Owens has been a hot topic ever since last Tuesday, so it should be interesting to see how the attack is addressed on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.
