On this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live, WWE Champion AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan had a heated confrontation in the ring which ended up turning into a brawl.
It was later announced that Daniel Bryan had been pulled from Team SmackDown at Survivor Series, and that AJ Styles would defend the WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan in the main event.
During the match AJ Styles went for the Phenomenal Forearm, but Daniel Bryan shoved him into the referee.
As the referee was knocked out, Daniel Bryan turned heel when he hit AJ Styles with a low blow.
Styles then got back up and Daniel Bryan hit Styles with the running knee, then pinned him to win the title.
Daniel Bryan will now go on to face Brock Lesnar in a Champion vs. Champion match at Survivor Series on Sunday.
After the match Daniel Bryan beat AJ Styles down and celebrated with the belt.
