When The Hardy Boyz returned at WrestleMania 33, fans cheered them loudly as they won the Raw Tag Team Titles. It was rumored for weeks that the brothers were planning to return to the company that made them stars, and everyone was wondering if we would be seeing Matt Hardy or Broken Matt Hardy.
It seems that we’ve been getting a mix of both Matt Hardy and Broken Matt Hardy as of late, as Matt throws in the occasional “broken” tease here and there, but he hasn’t fully embraced the character in WWE yet.
When Broken Matt Hardy and Brother Nero left Impact Wrestling a few months ago, Impact started sending out cease and desist letters claiming they are the rightful owners of the Broken Universe, and it appears that the battle over the rights to the gimmick is ongoing.
WWE recently posted a video on Facebook of Matt and Jeff Hardy hyping up a WWE live event in Rome, and a fan left a long comment underneath the video that prompted Matt to respond.

The fan posted a lengthy rant about how the Seven Deities are disappointed in Matt for returning to the house that Mr. MeekMahan built, but Matt posted a delightful response from his Matthardybrand Facebook page.
“The #7Deities have told me that my #BROKEN CONDISHTION will return fully as soon as the OBSOLETE Owl is fully DELETED.”
It’s nice to have The Hardys back in WWE, but it will be even better when they call fully transform into Broken Matt and Brother Nero.
