Daniel Bryan and Sheamus faced off at WrestleMania 27 and WrestleMania 28 but for some reason WWE didn’t seem to take their match very seriously. At WrestleMania 27 their US Title match got bumped down to the pre-show and then eventually morphed into a battle royal. At WrestleMania 28 they opened the show as they competed (we use that word loosely) for the World Heavyweight Championship in a match that only lasted a few seconds.
Finally at Extreme Rules WWE gave them the time they needed to prove they could steal the show with this 2 out of 3 falls match. Daniel Bryan and Sheamus work very well together and this match is proof of that. Here in this contest they keep the pace fast and the audience on the edge of their seats. We’re willing to bet that after watching this WWE officials had some regrets about not letting them work a match of this caliber on the grandest stage of them all.
