This women’s division looks a little different in WWE now thanks to the fact that several stars were recently called up from NXT. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville joined the Raw brand a few weeks ago, and Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan joined SmackDown Live.

Plans often change in WWE, so it’s no surprise that the talents who were called up didn’t find out until shortly before their main roster debuts. Sonya Deville recently spoke to ESPN, and she said that she didn’t know for sure that she was joining Raw until hours before she appeared on TV.

“As the days unfolded, you hear rumors and you hear things flying around. You don’t wanna believe anything until it’s set in stone, because it’s the entertainment industry at the end of the day and things change. Come Monday, around 3:00, 3:30, I found out what I was doing.”

Former Tough Enough contestant Mandy Rose had a similar story and she said she wasn’t told much beyond the fact that WWE officials wanted her to travel to Raw and SmackDown.

“I actually wasn’t in Houston for NXT, I was home in Orlando,” said Rose. “I was ready to actually go home a little early for Thanksgiving, since we didn’t have any Florida shows. But I received the email that I’d be going to Raw and SmackDown, which was really exciting news, but I had to change all of the travel stuff. Was this going to be me just kind of showing my face, or just maybe… I really didn’t know what to think. I thought about all different scenarios.”

So far all of the new main roster stars have had a big impact on their respective brands, and it looks like the focus will be on them for the next few weeks.
