kurt angle

Kurt Angle is coming back and everyone is excited. He will replace Roman Reigns who needed to be pulled from the show for medical reasons. WWE says he tested positive for a “viral infection” but other reports have specified that he might have the mumps.

Either way, it’s not a very good time for Reigns but Kurt Angle was more than ready to jump in and take his place in this handicap match. But it’s an awfully dangerous spot to be putting Kurt Angle into during his first match on the card. After all, TLC matches can get rather sketchy at times especially if the odds are stacked so far against them.

“Kurt’s gonna wanna uphold his third of that match” Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer Radio. “I just worry because he’s almost 49-years-old and he hasn’t wrestled in a long, long time. I’m sure physically he can do it,” Meltzer continued but he also expressed hope Angle can perform without hurting himself in the process.

“I expect the match to be great,” Meltzer continued but he did express some doubt this new match will be as great when compared to the idea of a reunion of The Shield. “I give them credit, they’re giving them something big,” Meltzer said. After all, the WWE Universe is losing out on a Shield reunion therefore something big needed to take its place.

Let’s just hope Kurt Angle isn’t going to overdo it during this TLC match. Those matches have shortened careers already and who knows how much time Kurt Angle has left in him. He’s wrestled for years and done so while injured and those injuries accumulated into something very bothersome. It is amazing that Kurt Angle is stepping up and getting in the ring, but let’s just hope it doesn’t become a huge mistake in the process.

It is pretty excellent to note since Angle has been approved to wrestle at TLC it certainly opens up the possibility of seeing him wrestle again for WWE. Hopefully, his next feud will have enough time to create a real program on television and it won’t just be a last-minute replacement.
