There are a lot of matches the WWE Universe would have loved to see and one shining example of what could have been has to be a WrestleMania encounter between The Undertaker and John Cena. But it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen now, especially considering the projected direction of Cena and Taker’s careers.

After all, John Cena looks as if he’s going to be taking a little break from WWE while he does his thing in Hollywood and The Undertaker might have wrestled his last match at WrestleMania 33 after losing to Roman Reigns.

John Cena recently spoke to E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness where he revealed why a match between Big Match John and The Deadman never came to pass. But as it turns out it wasn’t for lack of trying or wishing it could have gone down.

“We have to do the best for WrestleMania, period, That event is completely [essential to] the fiscal future of the company and every single year, there were plans to do the right thing for WrestleMania and that match was not in the plans. And that’s the best I can say.”

Of course in a perfect world, John Cena would have loved to take on The Undertaker. But it just didn’t work out due to the way the cards were dealt.

“In a perfect world, would I want to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania? That’s every pro wrestler’s dream! But if our company’s success depends on me doing something else, then my job is to do that something else. And I think the way all that went, I don’t have any regrets on the way any of that went. I think it was completely put together the right way. Would I have loved to do it? Yes! But I show up to work to do work.”

  1. “In a perfect world, would I want to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania? That’s every pro wrestler’s dream!” TRUE THAT.

although I am not understanding how Roman’s win over Cena is equal to his win over The Undertaker ? Cena is a 16 times champion and have held the business for 15 years or so, but he can never ever be a tiny closer to the legacy of The Deadman. Besides, I bet no body really cares about Reigns winning over Cena, but most of the WWE Universe is still upset of his victory over Undertaker and it will take a long long time for them to lessen the grudge.
