John Cena and The Rock have both wrestled their fair share of big matches on the Grandest Stage of Them All, and at WrestleMania 28 they clashed in what was advertised as a “once in a lifetime” match.

It turns out that WWE apparently thought the match was worth seeing twice in a lifetime, as Cena and Rock later faced off again at WrestleMania 29 the following year at MetLife Stadium.

WWE recently confirmed that WrestleMania will be returning to MetLife Stadium in 2019 for WrestleMania 35, and the announcement has some wondering if perhaps Cena and Rock will set up a rematch.

PWInsider recently asked Cena about a possible third match with The Rock at the WrestleMania press conference, and Cena neither confirmed nor denied that the match could happen.

Cena went on to say that he simply works the match that WWE asks him to work, and he doesn’t try to lobby for certain opponents at WrestleMania.

He added that his match with The Rock at WrestleMania 29 was bigger than his match with The Great One at WrestleMania 28, because it was a coming of age story for him, and if they eventually do have a third match then it will have to be bigger than their match at Mania 29.

Cena also said that he was “too stupid” to see that The Rock’s career in Hollywood was actually a good thing for WWE, because it brings more eyes to the company.
