WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka has unfortunately passed away at the age of 73. Snuka had been battling stomach cancer and he had been living in hospice care in late 2016. Tamina Snuka broke the news that her father passed away when she posted the following picture on Instagram:
It was announced in 2015 that the WWE Hall of Famer was battling stomach cancer, and he later had surgery that same year. In 2016 the cancer turned terminal and Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka was told he only had a few months left to live.
Snuka has been viewed as a controversial figure as of late after he was charged for the 1983 murder of his then girlfriend Nancy Argentino. Due to his deteriorating health, the charges against Snuka were later dropped.
Jimmy Snuka wrestled for several promotions between the 1970s and 2010s, but he made a name for himself in the WWE, and his Superfly Splash from the top of the steel cage is considered to be one of his most iconic moments. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996.
