Jeff Jarrett is one of the pioneers of TNA, which is now officially known as Impact Wrestling. For years Jarrett was the one steering the Impact Wrestling ship, but eventually his relationship with Dixie Carter went south, and Jeff decided to blaze a new trail with Global Force Wrestling.

Jarrett spent a lot of time hyping Global Force Wrestling up, but unfortunately for Jarrett, the hype never amounted to much. After launching the company in 2014, GFW struggled to get off the ground, and perhaps the promotion’s biggest claim to fame is the GFW/TNA invasion angle.

Global Force Wrestling taped several episodes of a TV show titled Amped, and the promotion even has its own champions. It was reported several times over the years that Jarrett had been attempting to find a TV deal for GFW, but apparently things didn’t work out.

One way or another, Karen Jarrett announced at the Impact tapings on Thursday night that Global Force Wrestling has merged with Impact Wrestling.

For those of you that are keeping track, that means that one Jeff Jarrett promotion has just been absorbed by another Jeff Jarrett promotion.

All things considered, this isn’t a huge loss as Global Force Wrestling didn’t really have all that much going for it.

The internet is feeling the loss of a promotion that it never really knew, and you can check out some of the reactions below.

GFW and Impact are both Jeff Jarrett’s babies. He’s tried partnerships for GFW and other avenues of cross-promotion in the past, but nothing has seemed to do the trick. […]
