As successful as he has been in NXT, most people are still wondering why he’s in NXT at all and when he might be headed to Raw or SmackDown. At the age of 37, Nakamura is still insanely talented, but you have to question how many years he has left in wrestling.

According to a report from Wrestlezone, Triple H took part in a media conference call today, which is standard before an NXT Takeover event. What’s interesting is “The King of Strong Style” was a big topic of conversation and HHH gave the latest update on Nakamura’s main roster status.

Apparently, he elaborated that Shinsuke Nakamura came into NXT/WWE with literally zero experience working on a television show, so bringing him to Raw or SmackDown immediately would have been hasty. NXT is about giving him the experience he needed to become a huge star when he does debut on WWE television, which is a matter of WHEN not IF.
