In the world of professional wrestling a good character can take someone a long way, and sometimes it’s better for talents to work a babyface role, but other times it’s a heel character that can take someone to the next level.

Becky Lynch has been working as a heel since she returned to WWE last year, and Edge turned heel in the weeks leading up to his WrestleMania match with AJ Styles.

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray recently shared his thoughts on the status of Becky Lynch and Edge’s characters on Busted Open Radio, and he noted that he feels WWE is trying to force fans to hate both stars.

“The WWE will force a lot of stuff on us. They are forcing me to hate Edge. I don’t hate Edge. And it’s not because Mark (Bully Ray’s real name) and Adam (Edge’s real name) are friends. It’s because Mark doesn’t want to hate the character of Edge. There’s nothing hateable about… his real-life story is too, too real to ever hate him. Becky Lynch. I don’t want to hate Becky. I like Becky. There’s nothing about Becky that I hate. Stop forcing me to hate people. There’s plenty of people around that we can get real heat, steam, hatred on. Don’t give me uber babyfaces. I’m talking as a fan here.”

Do you think the heel turns have worked for Becky Lynch and Edge? Sound off in the comments below.
