It’s been an interesting year for TNA. The promotion started 2017 as TNA, and it later became Impact, and it was announced that Impact Wrestling would be merging with Global Force Wrestling. The merge turned out to be more than just a merge, as Impact Wrestling ended up being rebranded as Global Force Wrestling.

In order for everything to work out in terms of continuity, Impact had to bring in some GFW stars and the GFW Global Champion Magnus ended up returning to the company.

Magnus has an interesting history with TNA, as he’s a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, but after his big main event push he sort of got lost in the shuffle and then he ended up leaving the company. Fans who were hoping to see him stick around will be disappointed to know that he’s already moved on.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Nick “Magnus” Aldis is no longer with Global Force Wrestling, and he turned down the contract that was offered to him. Magnus worked the recent tapings on a handshake deal so that he could drop the GFW Title to Alberto and protect the lineage of the belt.

It’s also being reported that most of the new GFW contracts are set up so that the company gets ten perfect of all money talents make from independent dates, and the contracts also reportedly state that talents will not receive any sort of royalties from merchandise using their likeness if the merchandise is sold directly by the company.
