In 2014 CM Punk parted ways with WWE, and he stayed quiet for a few months. Then in December of that same year CM Punk announced that he had signed a deal to fight for UFC.
It’s been a long time coming, but CM Punk will finally step into the octagon at UFC 203 on September 10th, 2016. Punk will be facing off against Mickey Gall, and it almost goes without saying that CM Punk has a lot to prove.
Punk has been training since January of 2015, and FOX Sports has been filming Punk along the way, and on Monday, August 15th, the first part of CM Punk’s UFC documentary “Evolution of Punk” will be released.
UFC has released the first trailer for the documentary, and it certainly looks like it’s going to be an interesting watch. In the trailer Punk touches on the fact that no one thinks he deserves his shot in UFC because he’s a former a pro-wrestler, and there’s even a few clips of AJ Lee’s familiar face.
