Today marks 15 years since Chris Jericho made his debut in WWE. It was on this day that the countdown clock ended then a legendary WWE career began. After years of working for WCW Chris Jericho became frustrated and decided to take his talents elsewhere. Jericho believed that there was no way he could climb any higher in WCW and WWE was smart enough to sign him.

In the past 15 years it’s become a well known fact that no one makes an entrance better than Chris Jericho and this one is without a doubt his best entrance ever. The WWE and Jericho put together the idea for a clock that would flash on the screen during WWE programming claiming it was the countdown to the new millennium. The clock was designed to get people talking and build anticipation which it did.

As the clock kept ticking, people continued to guess what would happen when the countdown reached zero. When the countdown finally reached ended during an episode of Raw on August 9th, 1999, Chris Jericho made his debut and interrupted The Rock. It was clear as soon as he opened his mouth that this man was a great fit for WWE and his career was going to be a lot of fun to watch.

Since that debut Chris Jericho has had a Hall of Fame worthy career in the past 15 years alone and he’s still going strong. Jericho has done it all at this point and he still manages to keep himself fresh. Every single time he returns it’s new and exciting and we hope to see him continue wrestling for many years.
