Emma’s release from WWE was a rather unexpected one, to say the least. She was involved in a rivalry with Asuka one week and released the next.

Many people were surprised about this turn of events and while other releases that took place on the same day like Darren Young and Summer Rae were also unfortunate, they were understandable because neither of them was featured on WWE TV in a while.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported Emma was scaring some promoters off by her high asking price to work the indy wrestling scene. But it looks like after her 90-day no-compete clause is up she’s already got her first gig.

Absolute Intense Wrestling based out of Ohio has announced the woman formally known as Emma/Emmalina/The Starter of the WWE Women’s Revolution will appear at their show in February. Sometimes matches for AIW can get a little, well… intense so we’ll have to see what kind of hardcore shenanigans might ensue.

But this is certainly a good start for Emma as she takes on the world’s amazing indy wrestling scene. Let’s hope this goes well so she will be able to fill up her calendar for years to come. But who knows if all of her hard work making towns on her own as Tenille Dashwood might see Emma returning to WWE eventually. Stranger things have happened in WWE (Strangerer Things have happened as well).

If you’re in the area and would like the make this show, I highly recommend it. There is no ticket information about the event just yet, but as the time draws closer you can check out AIW’s website for more details.

It will be a rare occasion to see Emma (Tenille Dashwood) really do her thing in the ring. Her ringwork and storytelling ability were somewhat stifled in WWE so who knows what kind of magic she will be able to pull out of her hat while working the indy scene?
