elimination chamber

Sunday night at the Royal Rumble, John Cena tied Ric Flair’s record when he won his 16th World Title. But Cena won’t have much time to sit back and enjoy the belt, because he’s going to be defending his title inside the Elimination Chamber on February 12th.

This week’s episode of SmackDown Live kicked off with a backstage segment featuring AJ Styles, Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan. Styles asked the SmackDown authority figures when he will be getting his one on one rematch with John Cena, and they told him that he will get it, but they haven’t decided when.

Shane and Bryan then brought up the Elimination Chamber match, and AJ Styles asked who would be in the match next month. It was then announced that John Cena will defend his WWE Championship against AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, The Miz and Dean Ambrose.

Although John Cena currently holds the title, he’s got two months to go before WrestleMania, and the odds are stacked against him. Cena isn’t expected to walk out of Elimination Chamber with the belt, so it should be interesting to see who he ends up facing at WrestleMania 33 in April.
