Drew Galloway was released from WWE in 2014, and fans around the world were surprised because at one point Drew was dubbed “The Chosen One” by Vince McMahon himself. With such a strong endorsement from Vince it seemed like Drew was destined to reach the top of WWE in record time, but things didn’t turn out that way.

Luckily Drew didn’t let the release bother him, as a matter of fact, it seems to have only motivated him to work harder. Over the past few years he’s won numerous titles and he’s become a very confident performer. Drew has accomplished a lot in his career so far, but he recently told Sports Illustrated that his current goal is to become bigger and busier than John Cena.

“I used to be around John Cena all the time in WWE, and I watched him and the way he worked,” said Galloway. “John is a guy who has been at the top longer than anyone else in history, and I’m lucky to have the opportunity to train at Cena’s gym and go to him for advice. The questions I ask him deal with how to conduct myself as a businessman and how to truly get over in wrestling. My goal is to actually top him, and be bigger and busier than John Cena.”

While Drew’s determination is undeniable, if he wants to be bigger and better than John Cena then he’s got a long road ahead. Cena recently won his 16th WWE World Title, and his career seems to be far from over.

As for whether or not Drew could return to WWE someday and possibly win the big one there, he’s definitely not ruling it out.

“As Vince always says, ‘Never say never,’” said Galloway. “Anything can happen in pro wrestling. There is three weeks to go and I’m nowhere close to making a decision. It’s getting close to the wire, but no decision has been made.”

There’s no denying that Drew Galloway has upped his value on the professional wrestling scene since parting ways with WWE, and with his Impact Wrestling contract expiring soon now seems as good a time as any for him to return.

Will it happen? We’ll just have to wait and see.
