It’s been years since fans have seen CM Punk wrestle a match inside the ring as the former WWE Champion walked away from wrestling in 2014, but in wrestling you can never say never.
Fightful Select reports that CM Punk has been in talks to return to the ring, and it was noted that CM Punk and an AEW official have been in ongoing negotiations regarding Punk returning as a wrestler. It’s being said that All Elite Wrestling is his most likely landing spot.
It was also noted that neither CM Punk nor AEW have confirmed the talks, and any details regarding a contract or creative plans are unknown at this point in time. Higher ups in WWE reportedly believe that CM Punk is heading to AEW.
CM Punk last officially competed in the ring when he entered the 2014 Royal Rumble match. He has said in interviews that it would take the right story, and the right amount of money to get him back in the ring.
