D-Generation X was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2019 and the induction created an interesting situation as Billy Gunn was appearing on WWE programming after he signed with AEW.
During the induction speech Billy Gunn joked that he couldn’t be fired, but Triple H took a shot at AEW when he said that Vince McMahon would “buy that pissant company, just to fire you again.”
Billy Gunn talked about Triple H’s comments during a Q&A session at For The Love Of Wrestling and he noted that he just let it go because his wife told him to.
“I let it go strictly because my wife told me to [laughs]. When everybody starts chanting AEW at the Hall of Fame, he’s got to try and shut it down somehow and whatever goes through his head, goes through his head, I’m not in control of that other than I could have punched him in the mouth. It’s what it is. I’m gonna bypass that.”
Road Dogg went on to joke that, “We put the ‘fun’ in ‘dysfunctional family.'”
Billy Gunn is currently working as a manager for his sons Colten and Austin, known as The Gunn Club. He does wrestle from time to time and recently competed on the April 15th edition of Rampage.
