Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have been wreaking havoc on SmackDown Live since the long-time friends and rivals were able to get back on the same page at Hell in a Cell just over a week ago, but it seems that their fun could be coming to an end.

This week on SmackDown Live after the duo baited General Manager Daniel Bryan in the ring at the beginning of the show, he later put them in a tag team match against Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Sami and Kevin were able to come out on top, but after the match when they attempted to brag about their win, Bryan announced that SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon would make his return to the show next week.

McMahon’s injuries were reportedly not considered to be as bad as was first thought following his jump from the Hell in a Cell structure and through the announce table last Sunday night. It is unknown what kind of condition McMahon is currently in, but his return could be to set up a match that pits him and a number of other stars against Owens and Zayn at Survivor Series next month.

It will be interesting to see if the rumoured tag team match that would see AJ Styles and Shane McMahon take on Owens and Zayn is the match WWE decides to go with for Survivor Series, or if this rivalry can be the beginning of SmackDown’s traditional five-on-five Survivor Series match with Team Owens taking on Team McMahon.
