SmackDown Live as an interesting show this week, as it was confirmed during the broadcast that Mustafa Ali had been pulled from the Elimination Chamber match on Sunday, and it was revealed that a member of The New Day would be replacing him.
The competitors from the Elimination Chamber match faced off in a gauntlet match on Tuesday night, and The New Day selected Kofi Kingston for the contest.
Kofi ended up putting on a performance that got a lot of people talking as he picked up a few victories over some of WWE’s top stars, and it sounds like he impressed the right people.
WrestleVotes is reporting that the storyline with Kofi lasting more than an hour in the match was originally booked for Mustafa Ali.
However, it’s being said that an opportunity has now opened for Kofi, and he has momentum not just with the fans, but backstage as well.
Hearing that the Kofi – Gauntlet story, with him being in the ring nearly an hour was the same story that was to unfold with Mustafa Ali.
