The Extreme Rules pay-per-view is only a few weeks away, and it sounds like WWE has some interesting plans for the event.

As noted, WWE is billing the Extreme Rules PPV as Extreme Rules: The Horror Show, and Wrestling Inc. is reporting that Braun Strowman is set to defend his Universal Championship in a cinematic match at the show.

According to the report, the plan is to have various spots in the match that tell a story referencing their past and present.

The idea is to go back to what made the Boneyard Match special, “but in a Bray Wyatt kind of way.”

Bray Wyatt is said to be heavily involved in creating the match, along with Jeremy Borash. Triple H will be involved when it comes time to shoot the match, and plans are being kept close to the vest.

Locations are being scouted, and the plan is to do an overnight shoot outdoors.

Michael Hayes, who has been involved in other cinematic matches, won’t be involved this time around.

The idea is for the match to be a cross between Terminator and a horror movie, and the match will play off of Bray Wyatt’s ability to revive himself.

The match will be more action packed than the Firefly Fun House match at WrestleMania.
