The WWE Network has been a standalone streaming service since 2014, but it was announced today that the WWE Network will become exclusive to NBCU’s Peacock streaming service in March.

WWE signed a multi-year deal for the streaming rights, and Fightful Select reports that the backstage reaction to the deal has been mostly positive.

One wrestler noted that they hadn’t heard about the deal before the news broke, but said that the company profit would be massive, and the first impressions were that it will help to get more eyes on the product.

Another top name said that they don’t care where WWE content is distributed unless it has an impact on their pay, but added that it was a big move for WWE.

It’s also being reported that WWE has been in talks to move the WWE Network to another streaming service since last January, but it hasn’t been confirmed whether or not talks with Peacock have been ongoing since then. Several people within the company noted that they expected the WWE Network to move sooner than this, but the state of the world affected negotiations.
