You never know when a name from the past could make their return to WWE programming, and back in September it was reported that former WWE Women’s Champion Melina had signed a new deal with the company.

Former wrestling manager Jonny Fairplay recently appeared on the PWTorch podcast, and he claimed that there were plans for Robert Stone to manage Melina in NXT, but she’s out of action due to injury.

“I hung out with Robbie E two weeks ago and he has no idea what he’s going to do. His plan was to bring in Melina and manage in NXT. She had to have surgery or something. They’re not using the guy.”

It’s worth noting that Melina denied she had signed a new deal after the news broke, but noted she was open to the idea of returning.

Whether or not we’ll see her on WWE programming in the future remains to be seen. Stay tuned for updates.
