Asuka is the most dominant performers to ever come through WWE developmental. She’s still undefeated and remains the NXT Women’s Champion. A few weeks ago, Asuka broke Paige’s inaugural title reign of 308 days to become the longest reigning NXT Champion in history.

However, The Empress of Tomorrow is now knocking on the door of an even more prestigious record that many wrestling fans believed would never be broken. Apparently, The current NXT Women’s Champion is closing in on Goldberg’s historic undefeated streak from WCW, and she’s expected to break it soon.

It’s being reported on Reddit/SquaredCircle that Goldberg’s historic “173 wins” without a loss in WCW was a little bit inflated. The actual number is 157 straight wins without a loss. Asuka is currently sitting at 149 wins and will surpass his record with nine more matches.

However, a lot of people will still consider Goldberg’s record to be 173 wins without a loss. In that case, Asuka is only 25 matches from passing that mark as well, so it will be interesting to see if she’s able to break the record, but being this close is a testament to her run in NXT.
