alberto del rio

Alberto Del Rio was suspended for 30 days after he violated the WWE Wellness Policy, and now the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Del Rio will not be returning to the company once his suspension ends.

Del Rio was recently removed from all upcoming WWE live events that he was being advertised for. According to the report, Del Rio and WWE have come to terms on his release, and he is free to work internationally immediately, and he will be free to work in the U.S. in a few weeks.

According to sources, the former WWE World Champion is unhappy with WWE for creative reasons, and it was indicated that he was promised a main event push that never came to fruition.

Alberto Del Rio returned to WWE in October of 2015 when he faced John Cena for the United States Championship at Hell in a Cell. Del Rio ended Cena’s impressive reign as US Champion when he pinned him clean.

From there Del Rio joined up with Zeb Colter for the failed Mex-America angle, followed by the League of Nations angle. After the League of Nations broke up it seemed that Del Rio was left without a direction, although he was wrestling top stars such as Randy Orton and John Cena before his suspension.
