Everyone’s wondering who will be facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. John Cena was originally picked to be The Undertaker’s opponent but unfortunately he’s out recovering from an injury. Then reports had Braun Strowman as Taker’s opponent but that idea was apparently nixed due to negative backlash from fans.

Now it’s being reported that The Undertaker’s opponent will be someone who isn’t currently an active member of the roster. We put together a list of names who fit that description and could also potentially step into the ring with Taker at WrestleMania 32.

Let’s take a look at a few of the possibilities.

#4 – Goldberg

WWE is in need of a big name to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 and Bill Goldberg certainly fits the description. During the Monday Night Wars Goldberg was one of the most popular wrestlers on the planet and fans of that era would probably like to see him step into the ring one more time.

Goldberg hasn’t been shy about voicing his displeasure when it comes to working with WWE. But he’s expressed interest in wrestling one more match on a big stage so that his son can watch. Neither the WWE or Goldberg are fond of one another, but when it comes time to do business, money talks.

#3 – Batista

It was recently reported that Vince McMahon had been pitching ideas to Batista in hopes that he would agree to an appearance at WrestleMania 32. Batista turned the ideas down and it’s said that he doesn’t want to return unless it’s for something special. What’s more special than a match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32?

Batista previously faced The Undertaker at WrestleMania 23 and lost. So there’s already a built in story here if Batista is interested in adding his name to the list of people who have faced The Undertaker twice at Mania.

However Batista is currently filming “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” which means he probably doesn’t have a whole lot of free time. But if he is ever going to return for a one off match this would definitely be the match to return for.

#2 – Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle is former WWE World Champion, likely a future WWE Hall of Famer and he’s currently a free agent. Angle recently finished up his retirement tour with TNA and he has a few independent dates booked in the coming months, but nothing major.

WWE seems apprehensive to work with Angle again due to some of his issues in the past. But if WWE could get over their reservations when it comes to Angle, and give him the chance to face Taker at Mania, it could be a real treat for the fans.

Kurt Angle can still go in the ring and The Undertaker has proved that he’s still willing to do whatever it takes to put on a good show for the fans. These two have already proved that they work well together in the past so you know it would be a quality match up. Plus Kurt Angle returning to WWE even just for one match would get a huge pop from the fans.

#1 – Sting

Fans have been dying to see this dream match for what feels like forever now. Could this be the year that it finally happens?

WWE is running short on options when it comes to opponents for The Undertaker and Sting is looking pretty good right about now. However Sting’s in ring status seems to be a big mystery following the injury he suffered in his match with Seth Rollins at Night of Champions. So it remains to be seen if Sting even could step into the ring for this match.

But one way or another, regardless of how old they both are now, this is one of the most anticipated dream matches ever. When it comes to this match the window of opportunity closes more and more with each passing year. But this is a special year for Sting as he’s being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. If he is able to participate in a match against The Undertaker this would be the year to do it.
