205 live

205 Live has experienced a rebirth in recent weeks with Triple H taking control of the show and Rockstar Spud debuting as 205 Live GM Drake Maverick. But it looks like they’re still struggling to keep an audience for the live show. To be fair, it is after SmackDown Live and WWE Mixed Match Challenge, but regardless of how amazing the Cruiserweights are they can’t seem to get people to stay in their seats.

SmackDown Live brought a great show to the Staples Center and the Los Angeles crowd got more than their money’s worth. But maybe they didn’t realize 205 Live was a part of their ticket price too.

It should be noted that there were a lot of people in line to buy Survivor Series ticket at the Staples Center box office because they got a special presale deal during SmackDown Live. WWE Mixed Match Challenge and 205 Live also followed an outstanding AJ Styles vs John Cena match which really tore the place down and left fans feeling tired as well. So it might be understandable that it would be hard to reanimate the crowd after that kind of a main event for SmackDown Live.

Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin was in the crowd during SmackDown Live this week and noted through his Twitter how people were leaving during 205 Live and almost half of the seats were empty by the time all was said and done. The crowd was reportedly dead for the Cruiserweight showcase and you could really tell by watching the show on WWE Network.

Only time will tell if they can pull the nose up on 205 Live, but it might really be a good idea for WWE to forget the “live” part of 205 Live and pretape the show before SmackDown goes live so they can have a fresh crowd that isn’t tired and ready to go home.
